ECB SOFTBALL AWARD CATEGORIES/CRITERIA 

We have three categories of awards at prizegivings: 

  1. Team Awards: from U11 up (coaches select these awards)
  2. Club Awards: U5 - Seniors (winners are nominated by YOU) 
  3. Club Awards - which are statistics based: U13 - Seniors

Nominations for our ECB Club Awards are now OPEN. 

This is your chance to nominate players, teams, managers, scorers and coaches for a variety of categories, including most promising, most improved for players, teams and coaches including personality of the year.   

Any club member can submit nominations (including parents of juniors), nominations will then be reviewed and voted on by the ECB executive team. We encourage you to nominate as many people as possible across different categories to help ensure a diverse set of nominees!  If there are no nominations the award will not be given out. 


Club Award Nominations close Sunday 23 March and winner selected by the executive committee.

CLUB AWARD CRITERIA/DESCRIPTION:

Most Improved Player: Is a player who has shown improvements in their skills and knowledge of the game from the since the start of the season to the end of the season. 

Most Promising Player: Is a player who has emerging skills that show great promise in the game in seasons to come. 

Nathan's Way Sportsmanship Award: This trophy is awarded to a junior player who demonstrates the sportsmanship attributes that Nathan displayed, positivity, consistency, encouraging team player, integrity and resport for fellow competitors, team mates, coaches and officials. 

Junior/Senior Club Personality Award: This award is a club member who represents the social spirit of the club, who is friendly and fun to be around. 

Social Senior Player of the Year:  This player has improved their skills, supports and encourages their team on and off the field. They demonstrate the sportsmanship attributes that embody our ECB Softball values such as positivity, consistency, encouraging their team, integrity and respect of competitors, team mates, coaches and officials. 

Sports Person Award: Awarded to a member who is not only a player, but may also coach, umpire and give back to the Club in another way. 

Umpiring Cup: In recognition of service to umpiring throughout the season. 

Top Junior Manager: This manager maintains clear communication with the committee, coaches, players, and parents while ensuring smooth team operations. They must be an ECB Manager, comply with club policies, and uphold safeguarding standards.
