ECB SOFTBALL IS EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE a new addition to our Premier Men's team for the 2024/25 season.

VASEK ‘VINNY’ BURES, 23 years of age, from Ledenice, Czech Republic. Vinny is currently studying business and economics at VTSE University in Czech Budweis. He plays softball in the highest Czech league for the ‘Ledenice Sharks’.

Vinny has been playing softball for 16 years, starting out as a pitcher/shortstop then developing expertise as an outfielder. His hobbies include softball, ice hockey, and travelling.

Vinny has impressive softball achievements - he has played in the European Championship twice, once as an U19 player and again as an U23 player. He also attended the Softball World Championship in Prince Albert where his team placed 7th. Vinny’s team won the league in his rookie year in the Czech Men’s Softball Extra League, and placed 2nd in the Supercup.

We will be seeing Vinny on the diamond early November following his season ending. We look forward to him joining our ECB Softball whanau!

Vinny has a NZ work visa and will be looking for casual, work from November through to April. If you are in a position to offer any work opportunities please just let us know at secretary@ecbsoftball.org.nz
